After exploring what Mizāj (temperament) means in Unani medicine, many of you asked:

"How can I find out my own Mizāj?"
Great question — and today, we’re answering it!


🧪 Why It Matters

Your Mizāj determines how your body functions, how you respond to foods, medicines, emotions, and even weather.
Knowing your temperament helps you:

  • Prevent illness

  • Choose foods that balance you

  • Improve your mood and energy

  • Get personalized treatment from a Hakim


🔍 Self-Assessment: Discover Your Mizāj

Below are four temperament types with checklists. Pick the one that matches you most.


🔴 1. Damwi (Sanguine) – Hot & Moist

You might be Damwi if:

  • You have a reddish, warm skin tone

  • You are energetic, extroverted, and quick to act

  • You have a strong appetite and digestion

  • You get angry quickly, but forgive easily

  • You enjoy exercise and social gatherings


🟠 2. Safravi (Choleric) – Hot & Dry

You might be Safravi if:

  • You are thin, sharp-featured, and active

  • You are a fast thinker, but easily irritated

  • You get thirsty often, and prefer cold food/drinks

  • You have acne or heat-related skin issues

  • You’re naturally a leader or decision-maker


🔵 3. Balghami (Phlegmatic) – Cold & Moist

You might be Balghami if:

  • You gain weight easily

  • You often feel lazy or sleepy, especially after meals

  • You’re emotionally stable and calm

  • You’re sensitive to cold weather

  • You enjoy comfort, warmth, and rich foods


⚫ 4. Saudawi (Melancholic) – Cold & Dry

You might be Saudawi if:

  • You’re a deep thinker, introverted, and serious

  • You have dry skin, constipation, or joint stiffness

  • You prefer solitude and routine

  • You feel anxiety or fear easily

  • You’re highly organized and detail-oriented
