Post #4 – How to Balance Your Mizāj (Temperament) Naturally with Food & Lifestyle
Assalamu Alaikum again, dear readers!
Now that you’ve discovered your Mizāj (temperament) in our last post, let’s talk about the most important step:
How to balance your temperament using food, habits, and Unani lifestyle guidance.
When your Mizāj is balanced, you feel energetic, clear-minded, emotionally stable, and less prone to disease. But when it’s disturbed, illness begins.
🌿 The Unani Philosophy of Balance
In Unani medicine, health is defined as the natural balance of four qualities:
-
Hot / Cold
-
Moist / Dry
Each person’s Mizāj has a dominant combination of these. So, the treatment or diet must work against the excess to restore equilibrium.
For example:
If your temperament is Hot & Dry (Safravi), you need cooling and moistening things to balance it.
